How Does the Sodium-Glucose Pump Work? (And Other Questions)

In this blog post, we answer salt-related questions often asked by dysautonomia patients. Read to learn about the kidneys, the sodium-glucose pump and potassium intake. Seven Activities We Enjoyed at the Dysautonomia International Conference in 2017

This past weekend, a few of our team members attended the fifth annual Dysautonomia International Conference in Washington D.C. With over 600 guests, this was the largest conference on autonomic disorders, bringing together patients, caregivers, researchers, physicians, industry representatives, non-profit leaders and government policy makers. We were educated, inspired and motivated by the attendees and speakers, and we are grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello. For those who could not attend, we would like to take a second and share our experience. Below are seven activities we enjoyed about the conference. No. 1: We learned about the latest research. SaltStick’s Experience at the Fourth-Annual Dysautonomia International Conference

We were inspired by the patients and their families, who tirelessly told us about their experiences with the condition and how SaltStick has been able to help some of them through day-to-day life. We learned a lot from the physicians and other expert researchers in the field, who shared the latest developments in treatment to address Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and other major symptoms of dysautonomia. We also previewed a new product called SaltStick Vitassium, which is specifically designed to help supply buffered sodium and potassium in a small stomach-friendly capsule. POTS patients often intake significant amounts of extra electrolytes to help manage their symptoms of low blood pressure, gastrointestinal sensitivity and exercise...
