Formerly obese, inactive and diagnosed with Celiac disease, Timothy Nichols overcame several obstacles before becoming a professional triathlete in 2016. A former collegiate track athlete, Nichols joined the Coast Guard after feeling the call of duty on September 11, 2001. He later stopped training and led a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle for many years, while his weight crept up to 280 pounds. In 2012, Nichols decided to make a change toward better health, and on the way, he incorporated swimming and biking as low impact exercises to avoid injury. It was then that he found his love of Triathlon. Four years later he achieved his dream of becoming a professional athlete.

How SaltStick helps Tim:
“I have a high sweat rate, and SaltStick is the only product that solves the problem of not getting enough salt while hydrating. It is still, unbelievably, difficult to find gluten-free supplements for Endurance Athletes. SaltStick not only keeps my electrolyte levels in balance but does so without harming a sensitive stomach and is gluten-free. As an athlete with Celiac disease, this product is a must daily for me!”
Tim’s Favorite Thing about Endurance Sports:
“Exceeding past limits and having three sports to constantly improve in.”
