Mike started his journey in endurance sports in 7th grade, when he began competing in cross country and track. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and continued competitive running, branching out across the world into countries such as Japan, Thailand, and Mexico. Eventually, Mike transitioned into triathlon, wining his age division at the Chicago Olympic distance race in his first year in the sport. That same year, he completed several half Iron-distance races, and his first Ironman race at Louisville in 10 hours, and 51 minutes.
Currently, Mike is training to complete 25 half ironman races, 1 full ironman, and 3 marathons – all in a single year. He is doing all of this while raising funds and awareness for wounded veterans.

How SaltStick helps Mike:
“The SaltStick Fastchews make hydration much easier than taking pills or tabs especially when you are in the zone. I have been learning a great deal about nutrition as well as training, and I have found that I am able to train longer and race smarter when I use SaltStick.”
Mike’s Favorite Thing about Endurance Sports:
“The lifestyle and the people in endurance sports are amazing. Everyone supports each other one way or another. As in endurance athlete, it can be an individual effort but it is a team atmosphere no matter where you go or who you meet.”
